BIRTH : Art born from Japanese Modern Culture

BIRTH introduced 56 Japanese artists currently active in the art sphere. We are proud to introduce not only the artists themselves, but a collection of 200 of their works.

The works listed here cover a wide range of subjects and techniques, varying greatly in form of expression and materials, depending on each individual artist. When viewed as a collection, these works may seem to lack cohesion, however, the purpose of this volume is to allow people see a corner of the forefront of Japanese art across a variety of genres.

If successful, it is hoped that this book BIRTH will be a step toward a world like the birth of a star, a steppingstone to new connections with artists that spark interest and imagination, not only in Japan, but around the world.
